SUMMARY:2026 Ecuador High School Mission Trip
DESCRIPTION:St. John’s youth will return to Quito\, Ecuador  – Wednesday\, July 8 to Saturday\, July 18\, 2026!* \nNOTE: On Sunday\, January 18 at 5 p.m. in Bishop’s Common\, we’re going to hold an interest and informational meeting about the trip. We’ll go over the details\, travel\, and cost. You don’t want to miss out! Come along and hear all about it. \nWHO: This trip is open to rising 9th through 12th graders. \nWHAT: We will know more about our specific work areas as our time in Quito approaches\, but typically it is a mix of children’s programs\, improving the physical church building\, a day or two of service in nearby homes of church parishioners\, and worship with friends at the church. The itinerary is developed in partnership with Caroline and John Allen\, and our ministry partners in Quito. \nOVERALL COST: The expected overall cost for the trip is $2\,200. However\, our goal is to raise $800 per youth participant through group fundraising at church. This means\, mission team members will be responsible for covering approximately $1\,400. We encourage you to talk with your youth about how they can raise some of the remaining cost themselves (writing letters\, working\, or other fundraisers). Confidential scholarships are available and we are happy to work together to find an amount that is reasonable for your family. We can also help you develop an individual fundraising plan. \nFUNDRAISERS: Our tentative list of fundraisers is available on the information form (see “resources” tab). Team members are expected to be involved each of these events which\, in addition to raising funds\, provide valuable opportunities for team building. \nWHAT’S INCLUDED: Roughly half of the overall cost is airfare. Your participant fee includes travel insurance\, all meals\, lodging\, private in-country transportation\, cultural activities\, and contributions to the ministries we will be partnering with in Quito. \nNEXT STEPS: Submit your non-refundable deposit of $200 and a completed Youth Mission or Chaperone Information Form. SUMMARY:Walking the Mourner's Path - Spring 2026
DESCRIPTION:When someone in our life dies\, it affects our entire being. St. John’s offers “Walking the Mourner’s Path\,” a six- to eight-week grief support program that is grounded in prayer and reminds us that we are not alone in our grief. If you have lost a loved one and have walked the path of grief over the past year or years\, “Walking the Mourner’s Path” may be what you need. Open to St. John’s members and the community alike\, the program gathers participants for a series of small-group workshops. It’s different than a Sunday morning faith formation program\, but the format allows time for being still together\, sharing stories\, and seeing where God is in our grief and in our hope. The spring 2026 series of workshops will be held on Sunday afternoons from 3:00-4:30 PM in Killeen Hall at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Gatherings begin on Sunday\, April 26\, 2026 and will be held weekly through Sunday\, June 28. (We will not meet on 5/10 or 5/24.) There is a $65 fee* to cover the cost of the workbook. SUMMARY:Walking the Mourner's Path - Spring 2026
DESCRIPTION:When someone in our life dies\, it affects our entire being. St. John’s offers “Walking the Mourner’s Path\,” a six- to eight-week grief support program that is grounded in prayer and reminds us that we are not alone in our grief. If you have lost a loved one and have walked the path of grief over the past year or years\, “Walking the Mourner’s Path” may be what you need. Open to St. John’s members and the community alike\, the program gathers participants for a series of small-group workshops. It’s different than a Sunday morning faith formation program\, but the format allows time for being still together\, sharing stories\, and seeing where God is in our grief and in our hope. The spring 2026 series of workshops will be held on Sunday afternoons from 3:00-4:30 PM in Killeen Hall at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Gatherings begin on Sunday\, April 26\, 2026 and will be held weekly through Sunday\, June 28. (We will not meet on 5/10 or 5/24.) There is a $65 fee* to cover the cost of the workbook. SUMMARY:Midsummer Sound Bath
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special evening led by Trine\, a trio of dedicated sound healing practitioners on a mission to bring harmony and well-being through the power of sound. Together\, we will celebrate the long-awaited sun-filled days of summer. We will begin promptly at 6 p.m.\, so we recommend arriving at 5:30 p.m. to set up your space. \nDress comfortably and bring a yoga mat\, pillow\, and blanket. (We suggest cushioned mats as our wood floor is a hard surface. We also highly recommend eye masks – disposable ones will be provided if you do not have your own – as the venue has a few auxiliary lights we cannot turn off. Otherwise\, we will keep the room as dark as possible.) \nIf you are bringing your own chair in lieu of a mat\, please set up on the perimeter to not obscure sound waves. \nBeverages and snacks will be served after the sound bath concludes. Stay for fellowship and conversation. There will be a $15 registration fee to help cover our costs. Bring anything that will help you enter a state of relaxation\, like an eye pillow or eye mask\, a bolster for underneath your knees\, and a neck pillow. You will be fully reclined for this. If you need an accommodation\, please let us know in advance. We will have beverages and snacks afterward.\nYou may bring your own folding chair\, but please set up around the perimeter in order to not block sight lines or sound waves.\nThis venue has auxiliary lights that cannot be turned off. We highly recommended you bring your own eye mask or use one of the disposable ones we will provide for you.
