SUMMARY:Annual Easter Peeps Diorama Contest 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join the fun and show off your creativity in our Easter Peeps Diorama Contest! Use marshmallow Peeps to craft a fun\, whimsical\, historical\, or hilarious scene inside a shoebox or small display. Pick out your favorite Bible story and get to crafting –  we can’t wait to see your masterpiece! Prizes await the most creative entries\, so grab your Peeps and start crafting. Submit your diorama by Palm Sunday\, March 29—Hoppy Designing! \nThe rules are simple: \n\n\n\n\n\n1. Choose a Bible scene: All entries must clearly depict a Biblical scene\, event\, action\, concept\, or character. It does not have to be related to Holy Week or Easter. \n2. Containment: The diorama must be self-contained in a way that is easily transported without having to set up pieces. It is highly recommended that all parts be glued in place. A shoe box or other small box is commonly used\, though foam board\, wood\, and cardboard may also be used. Characters and scenery may extend outside of the box as long as they are attached. Maximum width and depth of all components is 24 inches in either direction. There is no height limit. \n3. Creative license: There is no limit on the number of Peeps used\, nor are you bound to any color or type of Peep. You may use any medium\, material or resource that fits your vision. Peeps may be cut\, melted\, molded\, combined\, glued\, dressed\, or otherwise mangled. Dioramas that utilize artistic license\, humor\, and are exciting to view are encouraged. \n4. Limitations: All submissions must be G-rated. Although non-peep props\, scenery\, dress\, and minor characters may be utilized\, peeps must be the main characters. \n5. Title and description: Each diorama must be titled\, contain a scripture citation (e.g. John 3:16)\, a scripture quote\, and all Contributors’ names. This may be incorporated into the diorama or displayed on a placard in front of the diorama. Puns are welcome and encouraged. \n6. Submissions are due by Palm Sunday\, March 29 by 9 AM. Originality of concept and skill in execution will increase chances of winning. Winners will be announced on Easter Sunday\, April 5. Pictures of peep dioramas may be posted online for admiration by the general public. \nIf you have any questions at all\, contact Tyree Jordan. \nThe Entire Official Rules and Tips for Making Peeps Dioramas can be downloaded here.

SUMMARY:Liturgy for Maundy Thursday
DESCRIPTION:Maundy Thursday is one of the holiest nights of the year. On this night\, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and shared the Last Supper before his arrest in the garden. During this moving service\, we join with the disciples in those same acts\, offering a gentle ceremony of foot washing for any who wish to receive it and sharing in the Eucharist. After Communion\, the altar is stripped bare. \nThe word “maundy” comes from Latin for “mandate” or “commandment\,” as this is also the night on which Jesus gave his disciples the commandment to love one another. \nThis service will be live streamed – visit our ONLINE WORSHIP page. \nChildcare will be offered for this special evening service. \nNOTE: Incense will be used at this service.

SUMMARY:Gethsemane Watch
DESCRIPTION:On the night before his crucifixion Jesus asked his disciples to pray with him in the Garden of Gethsemane\, asking\, “Could you not stay awake with me one hour?” (Matt. 26:40). Every year at St. John’s\, we follow that command with an all-night “Gethsemane Watch” on Maundy Thursday. You are encouraged to come\, keep watch\, and pray with our Lord present in the Sacrament on the altar in Carter Chapel. The Gethsemane Watch begins immediately after the 6:30 PM Maundy Thursday service and ends at noon on Good Friday. \nPlease click below to sign up for the hour of your choosing so we can ensure there is someone praying throughout the night during our Gethsemane Watch. If the time slot you prefer is already filled\, please know you are most welcome to pray alongside those already signed up. Security will be on the premises through the night. \nSIGN UP HERE \n
